WHICH IS THE CORRECT WAY TO EVALUATE THE UPSC CSE PRELIMS MOCK TEST?

Even while some UPSC toppers may have informed you that everything is going well and that if you stick to this plan, your chances of passing the examwould also rise, there's no assurance that this will apply to you as everyone prepares differently, and success is mostly dependent on your approach.

In a similar vein, one of the top scores asserts that around 60 practice exams were taken during the course of their preparation for the preliminary exam. This does not, however, mean that you have to finish that many tests; rather, it is a guideline for your preparation, and you should aim to meet it rather than fall short of it.

More than half of the best performers, if you've heard them speak, have expressed the same sentiments about how much of an advantage it will be to be able to complete as many mock tests as possible. Because doing so allows you to examine the format of the questions, track the amount of time it took you to complete the exam, see how you approached it, and learn a lot more important information.

But in that case, simply answering the prelims mock test won't help you either because you need to carefully consider a number of factors; if this is done, only the time spent answering the prelims mock test series will be effective.

SOME COMMON POINTS IN THIS CONTEXT ARE AS FOLLOWS-

  • When you first sit down to complete the mock test, you should do so continuously and avoid stopping in the middle because doing so may affect your consistency and focus.
  • Try to assess the solutions, paying close attention to where you are incorrect. If you can do this, your likelihood of making the same error again in the future will be reduced.
  • You should not be discouraged if you perform poorly on the mock exam; instead, you should have enough confidence in your ability to adjust your performance via continued practice.
  • Carefully examine the information supplied in the solution if you encounter a question in the mock test that is outside the scope of your domain knowledge, meaning you haven't read about it. Make careful to rewrite it after writing down the helpful information in a revision spot.
  • Try to determine why you marked the question incorrectly while being familiar with the subject matter. Just try to notice if you misread the question or went blank and didn't know why.
  • In the end, nobody, including you, knows all of the answers to the questions on the UPSC exam. Instead, everyone is just doing their best to determine what will work for them and what won't, such as if they are unsure between two options and ultimately decide to use some guesswork. In this case, you should consider whether using guesswork will benefit your preparation or not.
  • Enlisted the aid of a mentor who could assess your performance and assist you by providing some helpful criticism regarding the errors you had made and how you could improve your performance going forward.

According to the experiences and opinions of many experts and specialists in the field, prelims will be ranked first among all UPSC stages if a poll is conducted to determine which stage of the UPSC examination has the highest rate of unpredictability and uncertainty. Since there is no middle ground in the preliminary exam and you may only be entirely correct or completely wrong, you have the choice to express your knowledge and abilities in the mains exam. Therefore, it is essential to be both faultless and skilled in your preparation for the UPSC prelims exam, and passing mock exams is a key component of this.

Whereas many candidates are still having difficulty and, in spite of completing practice tests and other materials, are still unable to pass the prelims exam, they no longer need to worry because the EDEN IAS, one of the largest platform in India and widely regarded as the best and most superficial organization in this field, has made great strides in this area and, in an effort to carry on with their longstanding tradition, has developed a new strategy called "MISSION PRELIMS."

HOW IS IT GOING TO HELP ONE IN THEIR PREPARATION?

You might be wondering what makes this distinct as many coaching facilities do this and need their students to prepare by participating in marathon sessions or crash courses. Then allow me to correct you since this is not comparable to or similar to what other institutes are doing because they don't simply think that having someone finish the syllabus is important; they also think that how someone grasped and analyzed the material correctly is the most important factor.

The other thing that sets their entire program apart is that they support frequent revisions and give all motivated applicants rigorous instruction to help them remember all the subjects correctly. The majority of the test series, which are sectional, subjective, and comprehensive in nature, must be solved as part of the revision process. one is exposed to several exam portions as you complete this portion of the test series.

Here, you will first receive the DPPs, which are daily practice papers consisting of 15 multiple-choice questions. After each class, you will also receive 18 mock tests, which consist of GS + CSAT. Within GS, there are also static subjects and current events that are used to enhance the student preparation. In this way, you will be solving a lot of questions while attending some productive sessions. as if you are going to be taken aback by the fact that each student will have completed over 5,000 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) ahead of time through this practice.

But the test series are also of the highest caliber, providing you with an accurate exposure to the UPSC-oriented questions. This is because all of the test series that are designed with the UPSC in mind, and once a person begins working through them, they will be better able to learn from them.

Therefore, if you truly want to escape this trap and pass the exam with flying colors, you must put in a lot of effort. Once you have achieved everything you had envisioned, the path—which is paved with difficulties and obstacleswill become less difficult and more manageable.

Good luck to you!
